Nice talking with you. Thanks for looking for that extra 3 piece exs tube.

I love all of my Albright rods and reels. Looking forward to casting the new rods later in the year.

Hi Michael,
I meant to send you this picture back in November when the photo was taken. Thanks for making great gear at great prices!

Photo taken @ South Mountain State Park, North Carolina.

Best,
Chris

Thank you for donating the waders to the Flygirls of Michigan Club.  I was the lucky winner and I am looking forward to trying them out when the weather starts to warm up a hair.  It is so nice to be able to see up close different types of gear and it is even better when you win something :)  The donations to the club are raffled off and the money raised goes to support our mission of teaching and encouraging women in fly fishing.  I can't wait to get out in the water with the new waders.  Thanks so much!

Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how pleased I am with my Albright fly rod and reels. I was amazed with the quality with my first rod that I purchased, I now have several rods and reels. The quality stands up to and surpasses all those top selling makers. Any time I am on the water or in one of the local fly shops I make sure I tell everyone about your products. When I am on the water I even let them try mine out so they can feel for themselves, I'm starting to feel like your Arizona salesman.Any way I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my rod and reel. Also was wondering if you had any hats made up yet. I see you are now selling fly's, we need hats now, this way I can advertise more for you. I attached a couple pictures for you, we have had to do mostly urban fishing lately while we are waiting for the snow to melt up north so we can get to the streams and lakes.

Thanks again,
Tom Hodge

Dear Michael Kahn

I once again wish to thank you for your help in making our annual fund raising and banquet a success. With the money raised it allowed us to increase our financial support to  Trout Unlimited, Federation of Fly Fishers, Cal Trout, The Nature Conservancy and several other organizations.
We are also able to support on a local level The Alameda Creek Alliance, Trout in The Classroom, free fly tying and casting lessons for the public, and helping Boy Scouts earn their fishing merit badge.  This year we added a second VA hospital to our Healing Waters  community efforts. As always, I wish to thank all of you for your help so we may help others.

Thanks so much, Michael. That is excellent news, and I'll be all over that.

Here is the fish porn I spoke of. A laguna brown, caught on a black, articulated leach on the EXS-907-4, and as a point of reference, Mike is a big guy - 6'2".

Again, many thanks,
Ken

Hey Michael, caught this 10+wild steel, out of all the ones I've landed, this one fought for 40 min.useing 2x leader with 4x tippet.another great day!!!

All right here are some of the pictures. theres an A run on the 6wt. a B run caught plugging on the clearwater and fishing the Owyhee in the winter. when ya going to join me?

Figured i would send some pics of the guy who i owe it all too. He taught me how to flyfish, took me to all the great spots in Idaho which led me to you and your products.

If you post these name is Cody Estell, he guides in the winter for Clear Water River Company in Orofino Idaho. 208 921 6019.

You might want to fly out here next SH season and go after some of these big bruisers.

Heres some of the Owyhee browns and yes these are all diferent fish, he was just on em where they had stacked up.

And heres a 34" 14lbs. male he got me into the first time Ihad gone.

Just wanted to drop a line and say how pleased I am with my new 9' GP 8/9 wt. rod and GPX reel combo...I finally had a chance to take it down to the coast to take a shot at the redfish and it was fantastic! The fishing...well, not as good...but then, that's fishing! It certainly wasn't the equipment's fault! But I love it! I have also set up the TW 5 wt. that came free with my order and have found some time to set it up and have a few casts out in the yard...as I am comparatively new to fly fishing, the TW is still hands down better than my previous 5 wt. set-up and a joy cast.
Thanks again for your personal attention to make this a reality, and thank you your offering a great product at an unbelievable price; I will gladly recommend your products and company to anyone who is in search of the same. In the mean time, I'll be getting my wish list together on your site and look forward to doing business with you again soon.

Sincerely,
Michael Scarborough

Hey Michael,Damien here again.Take a look, I caught this brown on a purple cooper john size 20 hook under indicator, from a driftboat. It was a searun brown!! It was 28 inch 10 pounds, and cauhgt two more between 19 and 20 inch. It was the greatest!!!

Thanks Damien

Hi Michael, Damien wanted me to send this cool video of him catching this 16lb. striper last summer. He's using his all time favorite rod, his 8Ft 5/6 Topwater with his 7/8 GPX Reel with the XXT intermediate sinking line. Caught on a sardine imitation with a trial hook.

Thanks, Don

I received my GP 864/5-4 and GP 906/7-4 fly rods several weeks ago. I've had a chance to take them out twice and each time they performed perfectly. If I had to rate them I'd say that they are very good rods at a great price. At twice the price I'd say that they were good rods at an excellent price. At three times the price I could find only a few things to quibble about. Make no mistake about it these are nice rods that I wouldn't mind fishing anywhere or in any company. Fifteen or twenty years ago these would have been some of the best performing rods in the world. The cork in the handles is better than that on some rods that I paid three times as much for. At these prices I don't worry about carrying them, cased, on my bicycle or leaving them in the back of my pick-up truck. With these two rods I feel that I'm always prepared for just about every fishing opportunity. Thanks Albright for offering such great values.

Hi Mike

Came back on the 24th and It's been nuts ever since. The second week was real
special, the tide was right for the West Side and I landed over 12 bones
between 7 and 11 pounds on the boga in 3 days, pretty nice. See attached for a
few of the photos, you can see them all on my website.

Thanks for the 9 weight XX. I swear, I fished it most of the days, especially
on the windy days and liked it very much - a real rocket!!
Tip is less sensitive than the "classic" but the strength is there!

Food for thought, am going to Andros on March 18 and depart on April 3, if you
care to go you could arrive and depart any day during my stay. I will check
the tide charts for the best West Side tides.

Am leaving for NYC tomorrow am and will return on Sat.

Looks like I won't be able to make the Somerset show, will be in Florida from
Jan 8 - 23.

Thanks again and have a great holiday.

Dear Mike:

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the offer to send waders for our annual Casting for Recovery event, however, our event was on October 17th. Several of the ladies had their own waders, so we were set for this event. As this is an annual event, perhaps we can work together next year, or possibly help in supporting our Kid’s Youth day, which is a planned event for June.
We were blessed with exceptional weather and had many volunteers Six women were able to attend and enjoyed learning to tie knots, had casting instruction, learned entomology by the river’s edge and waded into the river with one-on-one guidance, caught fish and had a great time.
Again, thank you for your offer.

Tight lines,
Wendy Nixon

Back during the weeks of November 9 and 16, you gents had facilitated an equipment exchange for a fishing trip I and my son-in-law were going on.  At the time I was so ecstatic with your efforts and service,  I said I would let you know how things went.  Well, like it or not, I am remaining true to my word.

First, with all the heavy rains lately in the southeast, streams and rivers were greatly swollen and fast for the time of year; making fishing them less then optimal for all but the rather experienced locals [ or so we were told].  But being ever optimistic fishermen, off we went.  Wish I could say we had lots a beautiful pictures of our successful catches to show you, but our luck was minimal-to-non-existent. Unfortunately, with trying to wade in the strong currents and high water, we were often less then stealthy in our pursuit of the wily trout.

But the good news, our equipment performed flawlessly. While we are both new to fly fishing, though dedicated long term anglers, the experience was exhilarating and addictive. Steve [the son-in-law] has even declared to begin salt-water fly fishing on returning home. Me, I'm going back done south in late February to try again.  Anyway, waders and boots kept us dry and slip-free.  Casting took some getting used too, even after all the practice on the lawn before leaving on the trip.  But we both found the rods responsive, and the reels operated without mishap. And others we met, with professed more experience and skill, were also impressed with the gear and its performance; as we were willing to let them try it in exchange for any insights they were able to provide.

Good times, beautiful environs, new acquaintances, an enjoyable experience, and Albright gear  --  who could ask for more? !!

Al Racette

PS:   the wifes' are now also expressing an interest, so I'm sure we"ll be doing business again soon.

Just wanted to say, that the service that your company has given me was top notch. Having been in the retail business for almost ten years now, never have i had dealings with a company like yours. I will and am going to recommend your company to everyone I know. Thank you

Michael:
This chrome king salmon measured 39x23, and according to the formula weighed 29.5 lbs. But looking at it, I'm sure it was heavier! As you can see I used Albright gear all the way: Tempest IV reel and EXS 13 ft. 8 weight spey rod. The catch date was June 20, 2009 and the location was the xxxxx River on the northern shore of the Alaska Peninsula. It was one of many on that lucky day. Casting this short yet powerful spey rod delivered distance without much exertion. The professional guides who have tried the rod have been amazed by the performance given its price. Keep it up.

I thank your folks again. Received my ordered A-5 Rod and Reel. Plus a bonus rod that I will donate to Trout Unlimited Friday. Thank you as our Texas TU organization promotes fly fishing regularily, as well as with youth groups. Friday I join with TU to stock trout in our cold-water river located near San Antonio. Your A-5 rods are second to none, I say again, your A-5 rods are second to none. Your services, prices, quality products, personal attention to needs and excellent customer satisfaction is unequalled. I said before, when I'm withing a thousand miles of your location, we all go out to McDonalds, on me. Some day.

Thank you Michael for taking care of the boot refund

Just a quick note (again) about your products. That 9 wt Topwater rod is truly a great rod. It's a little slower than the XX and that works well for me throwing smaller Clousers for stripers. I've taken some nice fish with it and included the rod in the attached photos. These fish maxed that rod out and it held up well. That's a GP reel and XXT line used to get these fish. Too bad I can't get that replacement tip for my second Topwater for insurance.

Thanks again,

Bruce McKay

Michael,

Thanks for the fast action on the waders.  The waders arrived today and I wanted to try them out so I slipped them on in the garage and walked 200 feet down to the Boise for an hour of fishing.  The waders worked great.  Here is a typical Boise River rainbow here by my Condo. They put up a great fight and are very pretty fish.  This one was about 17 inches.

I caught five fish on a small copper head nymph and then switched to a big October Caddis nymph with a Carey Special streamer as a dropper.    I caught two rainbows about the same size this is the second and last one.  I had to net this one to get the fly out and took the opportunity to snap his picture.  This one pretty much did in my fly and the sun was setting so I called it a day.

Getting ready to have some left over hungarian partridge with sun dried tomatoes, basmati rice, and sautéed brussel sprouts. yum.

Off tomorrow to the Payette River and maybe the Weiser River to try and catch some small mouth bass on a fly.

My new nine weight should be here tomorrow.   I hope to go Steelhead fishing next week with the new rod.

Ken

Greetings,

As an avid angler, as well as a business executive, I ned to comment on your brand over the past year. Impressive. Your whole look and feel as a company had stepped up 100 notches. Well done. I had bought product last year at your end of year sale and though was happy with it, wasn't sure the company was going to be surviving by how the site looked as well as Albright presented itself to the public. Everything from your new logo to your ads I've seen in multiple magazines is very professional and perfect for your image. You must have stepped things up with a Madsiona Avenue agency...I'm glad you're doing well. My brother in-law just spent like 5oo dollars on your site.

Again kudos on a great brand recovery.

Richard

The owyhee again. Water flow is down to 30 cfm from 300 cfm. So fishing is getting harder. Fish are stacking up and you have to be careful not to wade through the "reds".
Caught with an A-5 #6. Gpx sharkskin. Lamson Konic 2 reel, Baetis 22.
I have to say I am quite impressed with the feel of this rod, wasn't too excited about it being a 5 piece, but it does cast like a 2 peice.

California Delta fishing with Albright.

I use my XX, A5 and GP in 8/9 wts with the GPR 9/10 reel in the cool silver and black scheme to get these fish. I also use the Albright XXT 350 grain and intermediate lines too. You can't beat these lines for the money when you can get them on sale.

All my Albright rigs handle these fish with no problem. I like the XX rod best but that GP rod is a close second, especially for the money. The biggest bargains are those GPR reels. They are tough, smooth and simple, with an easy and convenient drag which is really needed when battling big fish. I realized for the money, just buy the entire reel and forget about extra spools. I do business with a lot of big stripers (when the fish gods are working with me) and have never had any issues with these reels.

I've turned on several buddies to a complete 8/9 Albright striper set up with line for less than $120.00. Oh by the way, that's an Albright fishing cap I'm wearing in those pics. Even that is a great product with the extended bill (hey Albright, where I can get another cap?)

Thank you Albright for making fish affordable!

Bruce McKay

Michael,

I received the piece of the XX rod that I needed a few days ago and wanted to say thank you for taking care of that.  I have attached pictures of the bent guide...I am not a professional photographer but hopefully you can see the problem. Would you like me to send the broken piece back to you?  I also attached some photos of our Baby Tarpon trip to Campeche, Mexico.  I would also direct you to a blog that is maintained by my friend Brett Colvin.  He does freelance photography for fly fishing publications and for Galvan Reels.  The blog is www.flytowater.com.  He has a good write-up and some sweet photos of Tarpon.  Each of the Tarpon that he has photos of on his blog were caught on my Albright XX 8 weight.

Again, thanks for your help and I look forward to seeing your new line of salt water rods.

Hi Michael, Damien here with a great fish storie.I was fishing with a trout streamer with indicater.I hooked a small rainbow, then out of nowhere this 19 inch 2 and a half pound german brown ate the rainbow! We did'nt know there were browns in our creek.I was using my favaret 5/6 8ft topwater rod, with my 7/8 GPX reel. It was Sooooooooo! COOL!!!!

Damien Lewis 13 Potter Valley California.

well i dont know how cold you want it to be to try out your new waders.. but its cold as can be and the fish are biting.. just giving you a hard time.. wife loves the Yellow stone that we got with our A5 order and heres her first fish on it.

and the other is me in the best nymphing hole of the Owyhee River. 300cfm

Dont let the pic of the Rainbow fool ya. this river is known for its German browns, the rainbow in there is propably 1 in 200. i havent caught one in 4 years, only heard about em.

the fish in the net is an 18" Cut/bow caught with the #5 Tradewinds no real reason for the pic. just makes ya wanna go fishing..

I was one of the very lucky ladies on the September "Casting for Recovery" retreat that was thoroughly shocked and overwhelmed by your very generous gift of a new fly fishing rod.

Although it poured the entire time we were at Connetquot State Park that morning and I was not one of the successful fisher persons of the day, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to try out my new "skill" in the future once I add to my equipment.

The retreat was a fantastic experience and the generosity of all involved - there just isn't words to fully describe my gratitude.

Once again for your part - thank you.

Sincerely,
Karen Mincio

I have to admit I do not weigh my Bones for clients anymore with the Boga for care of the fish wether or not this actually harms the fish I have no proof either way but that is something my clients are fine with. Sometimes claiming fish weights is hard but after weighing in hundreds of fish I would say I am close within ounces of fish weights regardless of species and this fish was damn close if not over 12lbs. The shoulders on this bone were so thick it was difficult to pick it up out of the water!!!!!

Dennis from Alaska started off his first day chasing bonefish with his 3rd cast sighting and hooking this amazing fish. We were very lucky that the flat we happen to be fishing is the only flat that you truly have a chance of stopping a fish of this size, as there are no coral heads or drop offs for 300yds in every direction from ground zero. The fish took a small squib-like pattern I had tied that morning with brown craft hair and a pink egg sack for extra bonefish attraction. Dennis landed the fly a bit to close to the bone but before we could say WOOPS we saw the bone turn and completely inhale the fly, then it turn and emptied the Albright reel of all but 50yds of the 300yds of 30lb backing that was on the reel at a break neck speed. All we could do was watch the explosions of water as the bone ran through shallow water accelerating with every kick of its giant tail.

I tossed out my drag anchor and let Dennis enjoy a fish of a life time as I told him on the strike, "you most likely will never see a bonefish the rest of your life this size!!"

All went well and after 3 epic runs and some high speed S turns we tamed the beast for a quick Short measurement of 34" which translates to a very big bone!!!

We ended up releasing 4 bones that day 12,7,5,4 all put my new Albright rods/reels to the test and can say I am very pleased with there action on the casts and bend in the fight. I got a kick out of Dennis when he claimed that bonefish could have drowned a 30lb king salmon tied tail to tail. No doubt these fish have insane power for long periods of time.

until next trip yeeeeeeeehaaaaaaa

Cap't Mike

I used my new A-5 and the Bugati reel today on The Mad River in Urbana, Ohio. I only caught a small trout but it was my first trout and my first time river fishing. I really enjoyed the rod and the reel. Thanks for all your help.

Hi. I am a BoneFishing Guide on Long Island Bahamas. I have a 4pc and a 5pc Albright Rod and all so a Albright GPX 7/8 Reel. The 4pc XX -990-4 9' #9-4 Rod and the GPX 7/8 Reel is one of the best Fly Rod and Reel i have ever Fished with. I can recommend it to anyone.

Clyde Jason Knowles

I am writing you to tell you how much I like the XX910-4 rod I bought from you folks about a month ago. It seems like all the fly rod manufacturers have gone to fast action tip flex rods. I think that this is a mistake. I have fished your rod about a month now and I love it. It does everything it should do. It casts easily and I can feel the rod loading and flexing through its entire length. This rod does the work for you the way it should. The entire rod works during the cast and this makes casting a pleasure. Also, when fighting a fish, the entire rod flexes and the butt comes into its own and the rod becomes a powerful fish fighting tool which casts and fights fish withour tiring the angler.
With a tip flex rod only the tip flexes and the lower section of the rod does not help with the cast. Also, when fighting fish, the tip flexes excessively and no energy is transmitted to the butt. You cannot utilize the butt of the rod to apply power to the fish. Please don't change a thing about these rods because for the kind of fishing I do (hours of blind casting in harsh, windy conditions, fighting heavy fish) these rods are perfect! They are better than any rod on the market at any price, as far as I'm concerned. Thanks.

Allan Harrington

My name is John Fromong and I have recently purchased a few fly rods from Albright and to my surprise I was sent a free rod for spending over $150. The quality of the fly rods is superior to any fly rods that I have used in the past and I will not use anything other than Albright. I have told my friends about the deals you offer online and have shown them the products first hand and they were impressed. Because of the quality and the great service I have received from Albright and it's products you have earned a customer for life. Thank you.

Hey Michael, Damien again, I just had to send you this picture. I was up at 5:30am. We headed to the river. first thing this morning i missed two big fish. So we went home and regrouped, then went back at 6:00pm and sure enough bam!!! It hit once then  twice, and it was on! It took off down stream 100 mph went clear into my backing. It took me 20min to land this monster. I caught it on my faithful 8ft top water 5/6 rod with my 7/8 GPX reel with a XXT intermediate sinking line.

31 inch Weak Fish

Hi Michael,

Just wanted to share this photo with you and your team at Albright. Today was the first day I tried the 9' 5wt. The second fish of the day was this 3 plus pound smallmouth. The smallie took a white with red head, stacked deer hair popper...very exciting. The rod handled the fish beautifully, and with the swift water the drag of the GPX even got put to the test. The rod and reel both performed flawlessly.

The rod was casting the deer hair popper long and straight. It responded just as well when I was casting a small wooly booger in some very tight spots on one of the tributaries.

Michael, you were right about the quality casting of the A-5. You have a top of the line rod and reel at a middle of the road price.

Talk to you soon.

Wishing you tight lines and bent rods.

Hi Michael damien here again, i caught this 34inch 18 pounder.  It took me twentyfive min, and a 100 yards of backing to land . i was in a big hurry to release this big guy that i forgot to hold up my #5/6 topwater rod and my new 7/8 GPX reel. Thank you so much for the fishing rod you gave us at the “Casting for recovery”.  It was a wonderful surprise and a wonderful gift.
Your generosity with caring and kindness is so magnificent.  I was so excited to receive it and will use it to fish.  It made me feel so good to see that there are caring people around.  It was a wonderful experience I will not forget.  It is good exercise for the arm and just relaxing and enjoyable.
I cannot thank you enough.

God bless you,

Hi Micheal,

Just thought I'd say thank you again for all the help. I just got the rods and reel a week or so ago. Love'm both. The tackle bag is great too! Anyway, I own a small local shop here in town and I know that it's always great to hear that someone really apperiates things that you have done for them. So, I just want to tell you thank you for everything. Take care.

Best Regards,

just got my A-5 in the mail. before this rod i thought i was doing something wrong while fly fishing. this thing is like a laser gun. i bought a redington rod b/c the price was right, but that rod has nothing, not even price, on the A-5. thanks for a great product. i want to go out with some local guides and put their $750.00 rods to shame, or at least make them question why they paid so much for a quality product. thanks again.

Hello Mike, its Mike Jenkins the guy you helped out on vacation in Pensacola the other week. Just wanted to drop a line and say thanks again for GREAT customer service, although the fish catchin didnt really get good again that week I had a good time learning the rod and casting the 8wt XX! I have several more overnites there in August and plan to fish some more down there, I am hooked on the salt thing and am already planning my trip to the keys for next year! I would love to come up to your area and fish those stripers sometime. If there is anywhere I can post a comment about your product and service please tell me. I will be ordering more of your rods in the future so keep it up!

THANKS AGAIN,
Mike Jenkins

Thanks for the speedy reply. I am new to fly fishing and like the low cost of your equipment. Your prices put me in a position to buy gear at a reasonable rate. Add to that the fact that the equipment looks superior to many entry level rigs and you can easily figure out why I am browsing your website. I appreciate the quality and price.

Dear Albright,

I just wanted to send some positive feedback on the service and products from Albright. Last year I ordered an A-5 4 wt rod and reel. When the reel arrived it had a bad drag, and when I called the representative sent me a replacement by fedex in time for me to fish that weekend. Since then the rod and reel have performed flawlessly and I have been very happy. I send along a picture from my outing yesterday on Oil Creek in PA.

Best,
John

Mike,

I would just like to send you the pictures of the beauty Small Mouth Bass I caught on your A-5 6# fly rod.
Albright was a new name I came across while shopping around for a new fly rod. Your site claimed great things about the A-5. I didnt know what to think about your product compared to other fly rods, but after one weekend using the A-5, Albright has made a believer out of me.
I was fishing with a buddy of mine on a lake in Eagle River, Wisconsin, and this was the first fly fish outing with the new Albright fly rod. I caught several Small mouth and Blue Gills on a tantem fly rig of a rabbit stip streamer and a small bead head nymph. But the fish of the day was this 19.25" Smallie. It was a hard fight, but the A-5 was a deciding factor in the battle. Your product performed really well, and has made a satisfied customer.

Thanks again!

Hey Michael, don here again, I just had to send you this picture. this fish was about all my #4 could handle. I was thankful for the GPX reel. Holy ---- this fish took me down to 4 or 5 wraps of backing. It took 15 min to land. It was 33 and a half inches 17 pounds!!!! As you can see this river is vary narrow. Man what a day!!!!!

Hi Michael, Damien Lewis here. I caught this 25 inch 8 pound striped bass on my 8ft topwater rod with my 7/8 GPX reel. It took most of my backing to keep from losing this big fighter. This is why I live to fish. Also love your products. Please post this on fish stories.

Thank you,

Damien, 13 years old, Potter Valley, California.

Had a great day fishing today in the Big Horn Mtns of Wyoming. I'm looking forward to more fun tomorrow.

Here's a shot of my son using the A5 3wt and Bugati Reel hooked up with a 15" Yellowstone Cutthroat.
