I used my new A-5 and the Bugati reel today on The Mad River in Urbana, Ohio. I only caught a small trout but it was my first trout and my first time river fishing. I really enjoyed the rod and the reel. Thanks for all your help.

our participants, fortunately this time I have pictures for you.
Thank you for your continued support and generosity.

Hi. I am a BoneFishing Guide on Long Island Bahamas. I have a 4pc and a 5pc Albright Rod and all so a Albright GPX 7/8 Reel. The 4pc XX -990-4 9' #9-4 Rod and the GPX 7/8 Reel is one of the best Fly Rod and Reel i have ever Fished with. I can recommend it to anyone.
Clyde Jason Knowles
I am writing you to tell you how much I like the XX910-4 rod I bought from you folks about a month ago. It seems like all the fly rod manufacturers have gone to fast action tip flex rods. I think that this is a mistake. I have fished your rod about a month now and I love it. It does everything it should do. It casts easily and I can feel the rod loading and flexing through its entire length. This rod does the work for you the way it should. The entire rod works during the cast and this makes casting a pleasure. Also, when fighting a fish, the entire rod flexes and the butt comes into its own and the rod becomes a powerful fish fighting tool which casts and fights fish withour tiring the angler.
With a tip flex rod only the tip flexes and the lower section of the rod does not help with the cast. Also, when fighting fish, the tip flexes excessively and no energy is transmitted to the butt. You cannot utilize the butt of the rod to apply power to the fish. Please don't change a thing about these rods because for the kind of fishing I do (hours of blind casting in harsh, windy conditions, fighting heavy fish) these rods are perfect! They are better than any rod on the market at any price, as far as I'm concerned. Thanks.

My name is John Fromong and I have recently purchased a few fly rods
from Albright and to my surprise I was sent a free rod for spending over $150.
The quality of the fly rods is superior to any fly rods that I have used in
the past and I will not use anything other than Albright. I have told my
friends about the deals you offer online and have shown them the products
first hand and they were impressed. Because of the quality and the great
service I have received from Albright and it's products you have earned a
customer for life. Thank you.

Taken Last week fish caught on the SW 6

loved the action, the bend while fighting the fish was flawless!! no flat spots and the taper of strength was impressive.
Thanks for a great product

Hi Michael
My son and I just got back from a backpack trip in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, here are a few of the fish we caught.
I used the A5 with the new spin butt section, it worked perfect.
Thanks!

thanks

Mike,
I don't have the words to say thank you. You guys are incredible with you service. I talk to a lot of people every day. I am in retail sales. I see between 30 and 50 new people every week. You can bet I will be telling this story.
Thank you again,
Michael R. Earle

Hey Michael, Damien again, I just had to send you this picture. I was up at 5:30am. We headed to the river. first thing this morning i missed two big fish. So we went home and regrouped, then went back at 6:00pm and sure enough bam!!! It hit once then twice, and it was on! It took off down stream 100 mph went clear into my backing. It took me 20min to land this monster. I caught it on my faithful 8ft top water 5/6 rod with my 7/8 GPX reel with a XXT intermediate sinking line.

31 inch Weak Fish
Hi Michael,
Just wanted to share this photo with you and your team at Albright. Today was the first day I tried the 9' 5wt. The second fish of the day was this 3 plus pound smallmouth. The smallie took a white with red head, stacked deer hair popper...very exciting. The rod handled the fish beautifully, and with the swift water the drag of the GPX even got put to the test. The rod and reel both performed flawlessly.
The rod was casting the deer hair popper long and straight. It responded just as well when I was casting a small wooly booger in some very tight spots on one of the tributaries.
Michael, you were right about the quality casting of the A-5. You have a top of the line rod and reel at a middle of the road price.
Talk to you soon.
Wishing you tight lines and bent rods.

Hi Michael damien here again, i caught this 34inch 18 pounder. It took me twentyfive min, and a 100 yards of backing to land . i was in a big hurry to release this big guy that i forgot to hold up my #5/6 topwater rod and my new 7/8 GPX reel. I love this reel!!! please post this on fish stories. this is the biggest striped bass I"ve ever caught and released.SO FAR!!!
thanks

I just got this GPX today. First fish with it. No need to post, just wanted to show you.

Thank you so much for the fishing rod you gave us at the “Casting for recovery”. It was a wonderful surprise and a wonderful gift.
Your generosity with caring and kindness is so magnificent. I was so excited to receive it and will use it to fish. It made me feel so good to see that there are caring people around. It was a wonderful experience I will not forget. It is good exercise for the arm and just relaxing and enjoyable.
I cannot thank you enough.
God bless you,
Rose-Ann
Hi Micheal,
Just thought I'd say thank you again for all the help. I just got the rods and reel a week or so ago. Love'm both. The tackle bag is great too! Anyway, I own a small local shop here in town and I know that it's always great to hear that someone really apperiates things that you have done for them. So, I just want to tell you thank you for everything. Take care.
Best Regards,

just got my A-5 in the mail. before this rod i thought i was doing something wrong while fly fishing. this thing is like a laser gun. i bought a redington rod b/c the price was right, but that rod has nothing, not even price, on the A-5. thanks for a great product. i want to go out with some local guides and put their $750.00 rods to shame, or at least make them question why they paid so much for a quality product. thanks again.

Hello Mike, its Mike Jenkins the guy you helped out on vacation in Pensacola the other week. Just wanted to drop a line and say thanks again for GREAT customer service, although the fish catchin didnt really get good again that week I had a good time learning the rod and casting the 8wt XX! I have several more overnites there in August and plan to fish some more down there, I am hooked on the salt thing and am already planning my trip to the keys for next year! I would love to come up to your area and fish those stripers sometime. If there is anywhere I can post a comment about your product and service please tell me. I will be ordering more of your rods in the future so keep it up!
THANKS AGAIN,
Mike Jenkins
Thanks for the speedy reply. I am new to fly fishing and like the low cost of your equipment. Your prices put me in a position to buy gear at a reasonable rate. Add to that the fact that the equipment looks superior to many entry level rigs and you can easily figure out why I am browsing your website. I appreciate the quality and price.

Hi Michael, caught and released this 24in 4 pound striped bass out of the channel at lake mendocino, california. I used my yellowstone #5 I love it!

Dear Albright,
I just wanted to send some positive feedback on the service and products from Albright. Last year I ordered an A-5 4 wt rod and reel. When the reel arrived it had a bad drag, and when I called the representative sent me a replacement by fedex in time for me to fish that weekend. Since then the rod and reel have performed flawlessly and I have been very happy. I send along a picture from my outing yesterday on Oil Creek in PA.
Best,
John

Mike,
I would just like to send you the pictures of the beauty Small Mouth Bass I caught on your A-5 6# fly rod.
Albright was a new name I came across while shopping around for a new fly rod. Your site claimed great things about the A-5. I didnt know what to think about your product compared to other fly rods, but after one weekend using the A-5, Albright has made a believer out of me.
I was fishing with a buddy of mine on a lake in Eagle River, Wisconsin, and this was the first fly fish outing with the new Albright fly rod. I caught several Small mouth and Blue Gills on a tantem fly rig of a rabbit stip streamer and a small bead head nymph. But the fish of the day was this 19.25" Smallie. It was a hard fight, but the A-5 was a deciding factor in the battle. Your product performed really well, and has made a satisfied customer.
Thanks again!
=Matt from Wisconsin.

Hey Michael, don here again, I just had to send you this picture. this fish was about all my #4 could handle. I was thankful for the GPX reel. Holy ---- this fish took me down to 4 or 5 wraps of backing. It took 15 min to land. It was 33 and a half inches 17 pounds!!!! As you can see this river is vary narrow. Man what a day!!!!!
Don Harris,California 7-11-09

Hi Michael, Damien Lewis here. I caught this 25 inch 8 pound striped bass on my 8ft topwater rod with my 7/8 GPX reel. It took most of my backing to keep from losing this big fighter. This is why I live to fish. Also love your products. Please post this on fish stories.
Thank you,
Damien, 13 years old, Potter Valley, California.

Had a great day fishing today in the Big Horn Mtns of Wyoming. I'm looking forward to more fun tomorrow.
Here's a shot of my son using the A5 3wt and Bugati Reel hooked up with a 15" Yellowstone Cutthroat.

Hi folks,
Was great fishing with your A5 rods at the river Glomma in the middle of Norway. I love this rod. Smooth and powerful. Had good
fun on Graylings, Brownis and Pikes .
Keep on going....
Thanks !

Mike:
Thought you would enjoy looking at the product of your EXS tip that you helped me replace. The 8 weight was super on this 39 inch snook which I took this morning in Wiggins Pass It took a schminnow which is a local pattern created by Norm Zeigler. Just as an added bit, here is a shot of the 80+ pound tarpon I boated last week in Islamorada.
Do you have any idea when you will be field testing the new rod line? The big fish will be here.

I caught this 2 pound 19 inch rainbow yesterday on my 9' 5/6 topwater with the 7/8 gpx reel. Yes it beats the long time record of 18 inches set acouple years ago.But this is the first on a fly. A bluewing olive! It was COOL but i know there's bigger. I fish every day. It just so happened, that day was the first time I used my new 7/8 gpx reel.
Hi Michael this is Damien, he's my stepson and fishing partner. Today he caught this 27 inch 6 pound striper on his A5 4# with his 3/4 bugati reel on 8 pound tippit, his first one on a streamer. It was so cool! He had to chase it up and down the river. It was great! The A5 held up nicely. He was hoping you will post it on ur web sight.
thank u - Don Harris.

Yesterday, rare this season sunny and light breeze day, Tamar and I launched at Acabonic with Capt. David Blinken. David found fish on the flats immediately and, to our delight, first-up Tamar quickly hooked a fine striped bass. Fish continued to show interest in David's sparse 'Little Brown' shrimp fly until the out-going tide went slack and then slammed a chartreuse deceiver. Back with the little brown when the tide turned, more fish turned on including an ego-gratifying fish illustrating to an on-shore heckler that, "Yes young man, there are bass in this skinny water and I, Captain Blinken, know how to catch them!"

Hi Mike
I have been trying to send you a picture of my wife,Linda Arnold, and our guide with a 15lb steelhead she caught with her Albright fly rod . Have not been able to get it to go.this ismy 4th try.
Hope it gets there this photo was on the web site of Reelactionfly.com of rochester,N.Y.
Joe Arnold

Me with a male steelhead caught using my albright flyrod, not as big as my wifes about 10lb, again the rod performed perfectly. These fish were caught on the Cattaraugus river in western N.Y. nov of 2008.
I recently purchased another albright rod for bone fishing let you know how that works.
Joe Arnold
Hi!
Order #100000225 received today.
Good product and fast delivery.
Thank you very much,

To Whom It May Concern,
I just came back from a week of striped bass fishing on Cape Cod, MA. I just wanted to tell you that I own your XX 990-4 fly rod and also a Sage Z-Axis 990-4. The Albright XX990-4 outfished my Sage rod. The feel and casting of your rod seemed to me to be superior to the Z-Axis. A friend who owns a Sage Xi-2 990-4 asked if I would leave my Albright rod with him to use when I returned home as he liked it far better than his Xi-2. We both are in the process of selling our Sage rods and we both plan to order another Albright XX 990-4. I thought you might like to know our feelings about your product. Thank you for making such a great rod.
Sincerely,
James Van Genderen

By the way these are some sweet reels. I opened the package in the presence of some serious bass fishermen and they were really impressed. Even more so when I told them the price.

Michael,
I.O.U a purchase.
Here's a pic of a nice 'bow that I landed with an Albright rod. Unfortunately the rod is not in the picture.

Thanks again!!!

Albright Tackle -
I bought one of your Topwater combo’s during the Oktoberfest sale event and wanted to let you know how happy I am with it. I was looking for a beginner’s setup for steelhead fishing in the Pacific Northwest and settled on the 9’ 8/9wt with the 8wt floating line. Finally got a chance to use it on the river this weekend and it performed wonderfully. By the middle of the second day I had caught my first steelhead on a fly. Without this great sale I still probably wouldn’t have a fly rod and wouldn’t have had the opportunity to experience the wonders of catching this beautiful fish on a fly. Even took it on a fly I tied myself. Picture is attached.

Thanks Again,
Nathan Ward
Gotta give you guys Kudos....I love this rod. Was going to be my backup but now is my go to. Landed a couple dozen steel head up to 12lbs since I got it last week and it is light, fun to fish, and protects my tippets nicely.

You guys keep the good stuff coming!
Regards,
Ben Parker
Michael-
Awesome! Thank you for the update on the added $9, and great to hear that my
order will ship today. Expect a call from me this friday regarding an order of
an XX 8 wt. rod!
Thanks again for the superior customer service, it is something you do not see
as much these days. Albright certainly has all of my future fly fishing
business.
Sincerely,
Cam
The GP140903 arrived in great condition today...I rigged it and waved in my back yard....SUPER!!!! Can't wait to try it in the surf on Jupiter Island...The snook should be moving along the beach any day now, not to mention jacks, etc,,, Thanks..a bargain at twice the price...Cheers,
Vince Amy
I have read a number of articles in which there are a number of fly rods being compared and have yet to find a truly negative article, which is why I have chosen to purchase the GP 9' 5 wt. - 2 piece.
My question is which fly reel makes a good balance for the GP 9' 5 wt? Obviously the GPX, GP, or the Bugati would make a nice pair, but which of the 3 makes the better balance in terms of weight distribution? Granted, each person has their own preferences, but I am hoping that your experts might have some suggestions.
Thanks
Mike
Upper Mill Creek, East side of the Cascades, Washington country, late April. The scent of cherry blossoms drifts towards me from a distant orchard grove. My sandal clad toes are in anticipation at the water’s edge, resting on river rocks. The sun’s rays are slipping through the cottonwoods and scraggly ponderosa pine on the far bank. Golden hues, firing light. I’m two casts in: working a pool of slow moving water. A lull in the lotic system.
My toes anticipating find sudden relief. A fish flights and turns in a silver flash, nipping my drifting woolly bugger. The take, my strike, and its fight are instantaneous; the trout leaps out of the stream, shattering the rhythmic gurgle of sound produced by water on its never ending path to the sea. The gurgle of sound is now augmented by the pulsing trout and my beating heart. The trout darts from the pool down a riffle. I jump in splashing, following the trout as if it were my dreams.
Nothing is felt more vividly then the sudden realization of a hope landed. The trout’s pulsating fight, the magic of it taking my fly, is like the instantaneous joy found in the realization of a dream finally accomplished. As the trout exchanges fluid for sky, my heart leaps too. The trout jumps again. My body vanishes, my mind stuck in a moment of purity, in an instant of now.
I know at this moment that trout’s hearts leap too, that all organisms have a hope to fly. The trout takes my fly out of a hope to feed. The osprey builds its nest out of a hope to brood its young. I find myself further realizing that humans have an inert hope to love, to swim in a moment, to jump to the skies. These hopes advance all growth.
As the stream continues, so does time. The trout fights itself out. Its pulse looses energy, its jumping ceases. I find it swimming lethargically amongst some streamside grass. The trout’s hope has presently ceased. I slowly bend down, delicately gliding my hand alongside its back and towards its head, gently holding it. The trout is a dapply-stippled native Westslope Cutthroat with white-tipped fins. I unhook the fly.
After a brief lapse of languidness, the trout’s heart leaps again, with renewed vibrancy it flits to the depths of the rock strewn bottom. I stand there in the water, awestruck by this moment of perfection. The gurgle of the creek continues on as it always has. The colors change from crimson to violet and blue. I have changed. My hope has been minutely improved; my dreams have been further clarified. In these last few moments of this spring day, I have gained hope to love, to live, to reel in this moment, this moment of forever, this moment of today.
I deeply appreciate the watery world that my Albright fly rod has opened up to me, thank-you.
-Matthew Lund
I haven't yet had the opportunity to take my Albright A5 4 weight out on the stream, but I have rigged it up and dry-casted it in the backyard. I have been very pleased with its smooth casting performance, especially between 20 and 40 feet. I purchased it based on an article emphasizing this ability and I don't think I will be disappointed. I am not as accurate a caster as those in the rod comparison article but I think this rod will help me improve. I also like the fact that its small signature (5 pieces) will make it an excellent pack rod for my hiking trips into the Unitas here in Utah and the Wind Rivers in Wyoming.
I also wanted to tell you that I was a little leary about the quality of the components and the assembly in Korea but after inspecting the rod on its receipt, I was very impressed. The fit and finish are excellent. I was very pleased. In fact, I have shown the rod off to some of my fishing friends and it has received positive comments. I might have even sent you a couple of additional customers.
At some point in the future I would consider purchasing your 3 weight 7'6" A5 for fishing some small creeks in Southern Utah but I would like to really get some time in with the 4 weight before I do that. I had originally wanted to purchase a blank and then build a custom rod. Would you consider this in the future as you develop your marketing plans?
Again, thank you for the email and I wish you and your company well, especially during this difficult economic time.
Sincerely,
John Gardiner, a loyal customer!
It was easy to navigate and simple to use to shop the Tabory XX line of rods, which are on my wish list. It was the first rod I ever actually tried. I was at the Wimington, MA fly fishing expo. Lou Tabory was first up for casting demo. He invited me up to try casting. So I ended up throwing a great rod, and getting a basic lesson. I left lusting after the XX rod and kicking my self for buying a half price scott sts 9wgt a few weeks earlier, on a whim and without "Trying it". Well, some time in the near future, I hope I can click on "buy" for a 9wgt medium fast Tabory XX. By the way, Lou is a great guy and a great representative for Albright.
Neil, Lynn, Massachusetts
Great site!
Ken, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Really enjoyed my three fly rods and reels I recently purchased. One was a 9 wt top of your line. I have a Scott costing more than three times your rod and your rod performs just as well in my opinion. Your reels are also outstanding for the money. Great value for the money!! Fast easy ordering too. Looking forward to my next purchase.
Bruce, Discovery Bay, California
Just wanted to tell you I'm very pleased with my TW905/6-4, my TW76342, and the Bugati 3/4 and 5/6. The best rods and reels I've ever had the pleasure of owning. I can't afford better rods & reels, but still get the appearance and, more importantly, performance of equipment MUCH more expensive. Thanks.
-Charles
Hi Michael:
Thanks for the free bag and the great deal on the gear. I recently did an Orvis fly fishing training deal at a resort in Orlando. It turned out to be a joke as we spent most of the day on a lawn, but I came away thinking fly fishing is something a common fisherman can realistically do. At any rate, when my family decided to spend some time in the NC mountains in May, I decided to take the plunge and get an outfit. To answer your question: I started poking around on Google looking for a great value in fly gear. I didn't want to pay for branding, but I didn't want to get a rod that was so inexpensive that I would immediately replace it as I delved deeper into the hobby. Your new company seemed to embody the philosophy that guided my search and that combined with the reputation of your previous company led me to conclude Albright was the smart purchase. Many Thanks and best of luck with your new venture...I hope to be getting back with you for additional product in the future.
Best Regards,
Jon Forbis
I will keep this short and sweet. Last year i bought a GP80562 when you were almost giving them away. To be totally honest it is a much better rod than i expected. It casts 2 flies with ease and is way comparable to anything on the market IMO. I will continue to be a customer and will pass Albright's name on to other people.
Thank You,
Gerhard Mueller
I love the site!!
keep up the good work!
Kevin, New Durham, NH
We have used the range of fly rods, 4-9 weight, with purchase prices of up to $600.00-$700.00. A few years ago when I first used an Abright rod I was greatly impressed by the balance and action. As a result I now own three Albrights, using my other rods as "back-ups" and "loaners." We accidently broke the tip-top section of one Albright rod when on our way to Colorado to fish for Rainbows. I contacted Albright for help, and, sure enough, when we arrived in Colorado, there was the replacement tip-top section awaiting us, just as promised. Thank you at Albright for your excellent products and service; a job well done.

Michael...

So sorry you couldn't make it yesterday. It was a blast.............
We had a "great" turnout.
I told Bear that you guys would get together in June. He's really looking forward to getting to know you better.
I'm sure you received the voicemail...........Can you even believe it..............Bear won your rod. Too funny.......... We had a full house and Bear was drawing the tickets for all the prizes right up until the end................ We had the President of our club draw for the rod..............."Bingo" he draws Bears numbers............. Bear couldn't have been happier....................As a matter of fact............He's not home right now because he wanted to get out and try the rod. LOL He's suppose to be home sanding the floor............but I can't stand in the way of fishing. LOL
Well.......... we will keep in touch...........
Thanks again.......for your donation....
Debbie
Mike,
Thanks. A couple shots of the fish attached. Using the full Albright setup - rod and reel.
